Ex-Liverpool player with motor neurone disease calls on Government to give sufferers hope

Former Liverpool footballer Stephen Darby has called for the Government to give those with motor neurone disease "hope" that a cure can be found in their lifetimes. He is backing a Sunday Express crusade for £50million of funding from the Government over five years for an MND Research Institute which will allow scientists to work together to find effective treatments for the rapidly progressing terminal illness that affects the brain and spinal cord.
